“Wordshark 4 is an excellent Program for reading and spelling” British Dyslexia Association “A rich resource of learning activities with a considerable range of imaginative and well structured tasks” BECTA  This new version retains all the features, which have made Wordshark one of the most popular programs in Irish Schools.  It now incorporates a range of new activities and has vastly improved graphics. The programme now has on screen help and will read the instructions to the student.

 The programme consists of large number of different arcade type games which teach spelling word and sentence construction. The key element is the extremely well structured wordlists, which are based on the Alpha to Omega scheme. The teacher/parent decides on the appropriate word list and sets up the child. All the games that the pupil plays are then based on this word list. Speed and difficulty level are easy to control.

This is one of  a small number of educational programmes which requires a lot of memory to run . You will need a minimum of 64 MB of RAM (We strongly recommend 128MB ) and 300 MB of Hard Disk space to run Wordshark 4.
